Olerai Lodge first opened its doors to travelers in January of 2019. Prior to this, the building was a cozy family house living in harmony with the vibrant wilderness and local farms, and it has retained this welcoming atmosphere ever since.
During her travels, Shadows Of Africa CEO Natasa Fras came across this charming house set amidst an acacia grove against the backdrop of the stunning Mount Meru, and soon transformed it into a gorgeous hidden gem. The name “olerai” comes from the word “acacia” in the local Maa language.
Visitors can begin their safari adventures immediately after check-in. Monkeys, porcupines, honey badgers, and a lot of stunning birds all call this area home. Spend the rest of your vacation time lounging by the pool, wandering one of the nature trails, dining in our restaurant, or simply indulging in the tranquility of the African wilderness.
